What this page is for
Everything you know about one pupil in your subject: their marks, their trend, their attendance, and an optional AI-written summary you can publish to them and their parent.
There is no sidebar entry — you reach it from a pupil's name.
What it shows
- Recent marks and the average in your subject
- How the average has moved over time
- Attendance and lateness
- Homework and exam activity
The figures are for the subject you teach them, not their whole school record. A director sees the full cross-subject profile.
Your private note
A free-text note for yourself — observations, behaviour, learning style — scoped to the subject you opened the profile from. It is not shown to the pupil, their parent, or your colleagues.
The AI summary
A short written assessment of how the pupil is doing, generated from their real marks and activity.
Before generating, the panel shows an estimated token cost and what you have left. Nothing is spent until you confirm.
Once generated you can read it, and then publish it — to the pupil, to the parent, or both. Until you publish, it is your draft and nobody else sees it.
The three steps are separate on purpose. An AI summary of a child's performance should not reach their parent without a teacher having read it first.
The panel records when it was published to each audience, so you can tell at a glance what has already been shared.
The parental-consent gate
If your school has turned on parental consent and this pupil's parent has not given it, the profile is blocked — you see a notice instead of the data, and none of the pupil's information is loaded.
Where a school declares consent as its legal basis, displaying and profiling a pupil without it is not permitted. Recording marks in the journal continues normally — that is a school's legal obligation. What stops is the downstream display.
The parent gives consent in their own portal.
Rules and limits
- Your subject only. Teachers do not get the whole-school view.
- You must actually teach the pupil, or be their homeroom teacher.
- AI summaries cost tokens — estimated up front, drawn from your budget.
- Publishing is a separate, explicit action.
- Consent gate applies where the school has enabled it.
Troubleshooting
"I get sent back to My classes." You have no active teaching link to that pupil. Only their teachers and their homeroom teacher can open the profile.
"The page is blurred with a notice." The consent gate. See above — the parent has to act.
"Generate is disabled." Your remaining tokens do not cover the estimate. See Token budget.
"I generated a summary but the parent cannot see it." Generating is not publishing. Publish it to the parent explicitly.
"The numbers differ from the journal." The profile covers your subject. The journal shows the class register — a different scope.
