Words used throughout the app and this guide.
School structure
Parallel (class)
One specific group of pupils, such as 12A. "12" is the grade (year of study) and "A" is the parallel letter. Schools with many pupils per year split them into several parallels: 12A, 12B, 12C.
Grade (year of study)
The year number, 1 to 12. Confusingly, "grade" also means a mark — this guide says grade level for the year and mark for the score whenever there is any doubt.
Homeroom class
A pupil's main class — the one that owns their official record. Every pupil has exactly one.
Your homeroom class (12A) is who you are. A subject class is something you attend. You can be in many subject classes but only one homeroom class.
Diriginte (homeroom teacher)
The teacher responsible for one homeroom class. They approve pupils joining the class, run parent meetings, and write reports. It is a responsibility added to a teacher account, not a separate role.
Teaching assignment
The link that says "this teacher teaches this subject to this class". It is what connects a lesson, homework or exam to the right pupils.
Most homework and exams are attached to a teaching assignment. If a pupil leaves the class — including by graduating — that link no longer applies to them, so the work stops being listed for them.
School group
The system's internal name for a parallel. You may see it in error messages.
School year and progression
Academic year
The school year, written 2025-2026. Almost all records are stamped with it, so
last year's grades never mix with this year's.
Promotion
Moving classes up at the end of the year: 1→2, 2→3, and so on. The class keeps its pupils and its letter, and its academic year advances.
Absolvent (graduate)
A pupil who has finished a terminal grade — 4, 9 or 12 — and left the active roster.
The pupil stays in the system with all their history, but is no longer in a class. Their grades, report card and documents remain. Class activity — homework and exams — no longer applies to them. Parents see an Absolvent badge instead of a class name.
Terminal grade
Grade 4, 9 or 12 — the end of primary, gimnaziu and liceu. Classes at these grades become Absolvent instead of moving up.
Repeating / deferred
Two outcomes other than graduating. Repeating means the year was failed and must be redone. Deferred means the decision is postponed for individual handling.
BAC
The baccalaureate exam taken after grade 12. Liceu graduates carry a status of pending, passed or failed.
Marks and records
Catalogue (electronic journal)
The official register of marks — the digital version of the paper class register.
Media (average)
The average of a pupil's marks. Media generală is the overall average across all subjects. In Moldova the pass mark is 5.
Foaie matriculară (transcript)
The official document listing a pupil's subjects and marks for a year.
Report card
A summary of a pupil's performance for parents and pupils. Less formal than a transcript.
Scutire (excuse note)
A justification for an absence or lateness, submitted by a parent and reviewed by the school.
Accounts and access
Role
What you are at a school: director, teacher, pupil or parent. One account can hold more than one role — a teacher who is also a parent, for example.
Membership
The record connecting your account to a school. Without it you can log in but see nothing.
Join code
A short code (8 characters) that connects you to a class or a child.
After that they stop working and a new one is needed. This is a security limit, not a fault.
Pending
You have asked to join and are waiting for a teacher to approve you. You can log in but most screens are empty until then.
Alumni
The account status of a graduated pupil.
Consent (GDPR)
Some schools require a parent to confirm consent before their child's data is shown. Until it is given, the pupil sees a waiting screen.
Payments
Price per pupil
The monthly amount a director sets per pupil. It determines the school's AI token allowance.
The price cannot exceed 1000 MDL per pupil. If you need more capacity than that allows, contact support rather than raising the price further.
Trial period
A period during which every pupil counts as paid and the school gets a token allowance, without anyone paying.
Tokens
The unit of AI usage. Generating a lesson plan, an exam or an image consumes tokens from the school's monthly pool.
Everyone at the school draws from the same monthly pool. A director can also give individual teachers their own allowance.
AI features
AI content tone
A school-wide setting — formal, friendly or balanced — that changes how AI-written text sounds. It applies to generated content and to the AI assistants.
Assistant
The chat where a teacher or director asks questions about their own school's data in plain language ("how many pupils are in 12A?").
Lab
An interactive science simulation. Pupils perform steps and type calculated answers.
Exit ticket
A very short quiz at the end of a lesson to check understanding.
