First steps
Welcome. This guide explains every screen in EduRol AI, in plain language.
Every task in this guide is written as numbered steps. If you can read email and use a web browser, you can use EduRol AI. Where something is genuinely easy to get wrong, there is a warning box like the coloured ones on this page.
What EduRol AI is
EduRol AI is a school management platform. Everything happens in a web browser — there is nothing to install, no program to download, and no updates for you to run.
Four kinds of people use it, and each sees a completely different app:

A pupil cannot see teacher screens. A parent cannot see another family's child. This is enforced by the system itself, not just hidden in the menu — so you cannot accidentally end up somewhere you should not be.
What you need before you start
- A device with a web browser — a computer, tablet or phone all work.
- An internet connection. EduRol AI does not work offline. If your connection drops while you are working, see When something does not work.
- Something from your school — depending on your role:

| Teacher | An invitation email from your director |
| Pupil | A class code from your teacher (8 characters, e.g. A7K2M4P9) |
| Parent | An 8-character code for your child, from the school |
Class and parent codes are only valid for 24 hours after they are created. If yours has stopped working, that is almost always why — just ask for a new one. Nothing is broken and you have done nothing wrong.

Choose your role on the home page, then follow the section for the screen you are on. Every screen's page is laid out the same way:

The coloured boxes
You will see four kinds of box. They mean different things:
A helpful shortcut or a better way of doing something. Safe to ignore.
Background: how something works, or why it behaves that way.
Something that commonly goes wrong. Read these — they save time.
An action that is hard or impossible to undo. Always read these before clicking.
