Notifications
EduRol AI tells you when something needs your attention — a new grade, a homework deadline, a meeting invitation.
The bell (everyone)
Every role has a bell icon in the top bar. A number on it means unread items.
- Click the bell to see the list.
- Click an item to jump straight to what it is about.
- Notifications are stored in your account, so they appear on every device you log in from.
Even if you turn off every other kind of alert, the bell still collects everything. It is the reliable place to check.
Browser notifications (optional)
You can also let the app show a small pop-up on your device, and play a sound, even when EduRol AI is not the tab you are looking at.
Settings → Notifications → turn on.
Your browser will ask permission the first time. You must click Allow.
The app cannot ask again — the browser remembers your refusal and only you can undo it. Click the padlock icon in the address bar, find "Notifications", and set it back to Allow or Ask. Then reload the page.
Close the browser completely and pop-ups stop. Nothing is lost — everything is still waiting in the bell when you come back.
Telegram (parents only)
Parents can also receive messages in Telegram — useful if you do not keep the app open.
Parents are the people who need to hear immediately and are least likely to be sitting in the app. Teachers, pupils and directors work inside the app, so they get the bell and browser notifications instead. This is deliberate, not a missing feature.
Connecting Telegram
- Go to Settings → Notifications and find the Telegram section.
- You are shown a pairing code.
- Open Telegram and find the EduRol AI bot.
- Press Start.
- The bot asks which language you want. Choose it.
- Send it your pairing code.
- The bot confirms you are connected.
Choose your language once and every future message arrives in it. You can change it
later by sending /language to the bot.
Disconnecting
Settings → Notifications → Disconnect. Messages stop immediately. You can reconnect later with a new code.
Telegram problems
| Problem | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| The bot replies in the wrong language | Language not chosen yet | Send /language and pick one |
| "Invalid code" | Mistyped or expired | Get a fresh code from Settings |
| The bot does not reply at all | Chat not started | Press Start in the chat first |
| Messages stopped arriving | Disconnected, or the bot was blocked in Telegram | Unblock it, then reconnect |
What you get told about
| Role | Typical notifications |
|---|---|
| Director | Join requests, curriculum approvals, at-risk pupils, school messages |
| Teacher | Pupil join requests, homework submissions, meeting requests, announcements |
| Pupil | New homework, upcoming exams, new grades, approved requests |
| Parent | New grades, homework, absences, meeting invitations, payment reminders |
Turning things off
Settings → Notifications lets you switch off browser pop-ups, sounds and (for parents) Telegram.
This is on purpose — it is the record of everything that happened. Turning off the other channels only stops the interruptions.
