Teacher setup checklist

Who this is for: every teacher, and especially homeroom teachers (diriginți) · Time: about twenty minutes

Your director has to invite you first — you cannot register a teacher account on your own. Once you are in, most of the setup below is only for the class you are homeroom teacher of.

The red mark in each screenshot

Each screenshot is marked with a ring or an arrow showing where to click. The images carry no text, so they are the same in every language.

1. Accept your invitation

Step 1.1 — Open the link in the email your director sent you. It carries your invitation, so open it on the device you will actually use EduRol on.

Step 1.2 — Choose how you will sign in. Either continue with Google, or set an email and password. Both work — pick whichever you will remember.

Step 1.3 — Finish the short setup and you land in your portal.

The link is for you alone

An invitation is tied to the address it was sent to. Forwarding it to a colleague does not give them an account — ask the director to invite them.

2. Find your homeroom class

Where: Homeroom in the sidebar.

If you do not have this page, you are not set as a homeroom teacher for any class. That is a director setting — ask them to assign you.

3. Invite your pupils

Step 3.1 — Open the class code.

Step 3.2 — Read out or share the code. Pupils type it when they join. It belongs to your class only.

Step 3.3 — Approve the requests as they arrive. Each pupil who enters the code appears in your inbox; they are not in the class until you accept.

Step 3.4 — Or add a pupil who already has an account. Use Add existing pupil and search by name — useful for a pupil transferring from another class in the same school.

4. Create support plans for the pupils who need them

Where: Homeroom → Support plans.

A support plan (PEI/CES) records what a pupil needs — the accommodations and the goals. Do this before teachers start generating lessons for the class, because the accommodations are fed into every AI-generated lesson plan for that class automatically.

Step 4.1 — Open the tab and pick the pupil.

Step 4.2 — Write the needs summary and the accommodations.

Step 4.3 — Add the goals and set a review date, then save.

Names never reach the AI

When accommodations are folded into a lesson plan they are passed as a deduplicated list with no pupil names attached. The plan is visible to you, to the director, and to the pupil's own parent — never to the class.

5. Give the parents their code

Parents join with a code, exactly like pupils, but it is a different code. Handing out the pupil code to a parent will not work.

Step 5.1 — Open the parent code.

Step 5.2 — Share it with the families — read it out at a meeting, or send it in an announcement.

A parent who joins is not yet linked to a child

The code only gets them into the school. Connecting them to their own child is the next step, and it is yours to do.

Where: Homeroom → Parents.

This is the step everything else depends on. A parent who is in the school but linked to nobody sees an empty portal, cannot pay, and cannot receive a single notification about their child.

Step 6.1 — Open the parents list. Parents who have joined but are not linked are the ones waiting on you.

Step 6.2 — Link each parent to their child. Search for the parent, pick the child from your class list, and link them. There is nothing to approve — you create the link yourself, and the parent sees their child immediately.

The same panel lists every link you have made, so you can check your work and detach anyone who was attached to the wrong child.

Step 6.3 — Check every family is linked before you tell parents to pay. A parent cannot pay for a child they are not linked to.

You can search by the child's name

The parents list matches on the child's name as well as the parent's, which is usually how you actually think about it — "who is Ion Popescu's mother".

Done — what happens next

WhoWhat they do now
PupilsJoin with your class code — pupil setup
ParentsJoin with your parent code, then pay and connect Telegram — parent setup

Then you can start teaching: build your calendar, your lesson plans, and your exams.

Troubleshooting

"I have no Homeroom page." You are not assigned as a homeroom teacher. The director sets this on the class.

"A pupil says the code does not work." Check they are using the pupil code, not the parent one, and that they typed it in the join screen rather than the login screen.

"A parent joined but sees nothing." They are not linked to a child yet — step 6.

"I cannot see a class I teach." You have no teaching assignment for it. That is set by the director in the teaching-assignment matrix.

"My subject list is missing a subject." Same cause. A subject exists for a class only once the director assigns a teacher to that pair.
