The homework list
Homework you have created is grouped into Drafts — generated but not yet checked, worth reviewing before you assign them — and items already assigned to classes, each showing its deadline and a status badge.
A search box above the list finds an item by title.
The three kinds of homework

The third is the one for "exercises 4–7 on page 112". It has no AI marking — you mark it yourself.
The create wizard
Step 1 — Basics
A title for the homework, and which of the three kinds above to create. Subject, class and the deadline are not set here — those come later, when you assign the finished homework to a class.
Step 2 — Content
What this step asks for depends on the kind you picked in step 1.
For AI-generated homework, pick the curriculum content the questions should come from. The picker goes section → topic → subtopic, and the deepest thing you tick is what is actually used — so you can set homework on one subtopic rather than a whole unit. You can add free-text instructions for the AI, turn on personalize per pupil to generate separate support/core/ extension versions of the same homework, and choose a quality tier — a higher tier uses a stronger model and costs more tokens, with the estimate shown as you choose.
For manual homework you build each question here yourself — its type, its point value, and, for choice questions, which option is correct. For topic with comments you write the topic and your own instructions, and can attach up to 3 files of your own (50 MB total) for pupils to read.
.exe, .bat, scripts, installers and macro-enabled Office files are refused,
for you and for pupils. The check looks at the real ending, so notes.pdf.exe is
caught too.
Step 3 — Materials and rubric
Common to all three kinds. Write a rubric — the criteria the work is judged against, with a learning objective and per-level scoring criteria. Pupils and parents can read it, which is usually more useful before the work than after. You can also point pupils to library material or add your own custom links for them to open before answering — there is no file upload on this step; that only exists for topic-with-comments homework, back in step 2.
Opening a homework item
Click a card in the list to open it. Three tabs cover the same item: an overview, the generated content, and the pupils.
Overview
Shows how many of the class have submitted so far, the description shown to pupils (with its learning points and estimated time), and a private note on how to evaluate the answers.
Generated content
The questions actually generated (or written, for manual homework) — this is what pupils see and answer, each with its type and point value.
Pupils
Every pupil assigned the homework, with their status, draft/score/submission time, and a button to open their individual submission.
Assigning
Assign to a class with a deadline, from the Assign to class button on the homework's own page.
Without a complete date and time the assign button reports an error rather than doing nothing quietly.
Marking
Open a submission to see the answers, the files, and the rubric side by side.
- Automatic marking handles closed questions, and open ones if AI marking is on
- Manual marking — set points per question, or one overall score for topic-style homework
- Add per-question notes; pupils and parents see them
AI marking and cost
Where AI marking is enabled you are shown the estimated cost per pupil, and what is left of your allowance, before spending anything. "Mark all with AI" shows the total for the whole class first.
Not a hidden one. The result appears only when you mark it yourself.
Rules and limits
- Your classes only.
- Pupils attach up to 10 files, 50 MB each.
- Saving is not submitting for pupils — work saved but never submitted counts as not handed in.
- A homework mark is not a journal mark until you push it.
- The completion rate counts everyone assigned, not only those who started.
Troubleshooting
"Assign does nothing." The deadline is incomplete.
"A pupil says they submitted, but I see nothing." They saved without submitting.
"Generation failed." Usually the token budget. The estimate before generating shows what is left.
"I cannot attach a file." Over 3 files, over 50 MB total, or a blocked type.
