Which role am I?
The very first screen asks who you are. This page helps you answer correctly.
The four roles
| Role | You are this if… | How you got in |
|---|---|---|
| Director | You run the school, or you registered it | You created the school yourself |
| Teacher | You teach at least one class | Your director emailed you an invitation |
| Pupil | You are a student at the school | A teacher gave you a class code |
| Parent | You are the parent or guardian of a pupil | The school gave you an 8-character code |
Choosing "Director" on the login screen does not make you a director. The picker only tells the system how you want to sign in. Your real role comes from your school's records. If your school registered you as a teacher, you will land in the teacher app no matter which card you click.
Special cases
I am a teacher and a parent at the same school
This is common and fully supported. You have two separate roles on the same account, and you switch between them from inside the app — you do not need two email addresses or two accounts.
Sign in the normal way. If the app takes you to the wrong side, look for the school or role switcher in the sidebar rather than logging out and back in.
I am a "diriginte" (homeroom teacher)
You are a teacher. "Diriginte" is not a separate login role — it is an extra responsibility attached to your teacher account for one specific class. You will simply see extra screens (a homeroom section, parent meetings, join requests) that other teachers do not.
I have children at two different schools
You are a parent, once. One parent account can be linked to children at several schools, and you switch between them inside the app. Do not create a second account — that would split your children across two logins you then have to remember.
I am a director who also teaches
You will have both roles. Register/sign in as the director first, then have yourself added as a teacher for the classes you teach.
What happens if I pick the wrong card?
Nothing bad. Picking a role on the login screen is not a decision you are stuck with — it only changes which sign-in method you are shown next.
| You picked | You get | If that is wrong |
|---|---|---|
| Director, Teacher or Pupil | A "Continue with Google" button | Click Back and choose again |
| Parent | An email + password form | Click Back and choose again |
There is a Back button on that second step for exactly this reason.
Directors, teachers and pupils sign in with Google. Parents sign in with an email address and a password. If you picked "Parent" but your school gave you a Google-based account, the password form will never accept you — go back and choose the correct role. See Logging in.
Still not sure?
Ask the person who set up your account:
- If you got an email invitation with a button in it → you are a teacher.
- If you got a short code to type in → you are a pupil (class code) or a parent (8-character child code).
- If you registered the school yourself → you are the director.
If nobody gave you anything, your account probably does not exist yet. Contact your school before trying to log in — creating an account yourself will not connect you to the school.
