The official record: marks, absences, lateness and conduct notes, per pupil per day. Parents and pupils see what you enter here.
The screen, explained
Pupils down the left, days across the top. The pupil column stays visible while you scroll sideways through the dates.
If no catalogue has been assigned to you yet for the selected subject, class, year and semester, the page shows an empty state instead of a grid — ask your director to create one and assign it to you.
A toolbar above the grid lets you narrow down what you're looking at: an academic year, one of two semester tabs, and the subject/class you want to grade, plus quick actions and week navigation.
Pick the academic year first.
Then one of the two semester tabs — everything you see is scoped to that semester.
And the subject/class picker, which lists only the catalogues assigned to you.
The grid always shows one calendar week at a time. Step between weeks with the arrows, jump to the current week with Today, or open the date-range button for a small calendar and pick any week directly.
Here's the grid itself — pupils down the left, the selected week's days across the top.
Click any empty cell to add an entry for that pupil on that day.
Each cell can hold more than one entry — a mark and an absence on the same day are both recorded.
Below each pupil's name are two small icons — a star to award a recognition and a target to record an effort rating and target grade for the report card. Both are covered under Common tasks below.
Two averages are shown per pupil: Average, covering only the visible week, and Semester average, covering the whole semester regardless of which week you're looking at.
The footer row shows the class average, split the same way — the current week and the full semester.
Common tasks
Enter a mark
Click a cell. Choose the kind of entry, then the mark.
Pick a number from 1 to 10 for a grade,
or one of the attendance/other kinds — Absence, Late, Present, or Conduita (a conduct note).
If your school uses a custom grading scale for this subject and grade, you get that scale's symbols instead of 1–10. The numeric value is stored underneath, so averages and analytics keep working.
Lesson Mode
The fast path for a whole class. Everyone starts present; you tap only the exceptions, and add marks as you go.
Marking a class one cell at a time is slow. Lesson Mode is designed for doing it during the lesson, on a phone if necessary.
If you only need to record attendance — no grades — Mark all present today in the toolbar does it in a single click, without opening Lesson Mode at all.
Otherwise, open Lesson Mode from the toolbar.
The moment the screen opens, every pupil who doesn't already have an attendance entry for today is set to Present — that is a real change, not a preview, and it autosaves about 1.2 seconds later. Opening Lesson Mode and leaving again without touching anything still records the whole class as present for that lesson. Mark any absences or lateness first if that isn't what actually happened.
Each row has four buttons: Present (green, on by default), Absent, Late, and Grade.
Tap Grade to open an inline 1–10 picker under that pupil's row, without leaving the list.
It saves as you go and shows a present/absent/late count as you work. If a save fails, the entry is restored rather than silently lost.
Award a recognition
The star button on a pupil's row. Recognitions are subject-scoped and can later be converted into a mark.
Set a target
The target button records an attainment target and an effort rating for the report card.
Rules and limits
- Only your own subject and class.
- Attendance is exclusive per day — present, absent and late replace each other rather than stacking. Marks are additive.
- Parents are notified when a mark, absence or parent-visible note is added.
- Entries can be deleted with a reason, which is recorded in the audit log.
- An archived journal is read-only — the director archives it at year end.
Troubleshooting
"A pupil is missing from the list." They are not on the class roster, or still pending approval by the homeroom teacher.
"I see symbols instead of numbers." Your school configured a grading scale for this subject and grade. The number is still stored.
"I cannot enter anything." The journal is archived, or you are viewing a class you do not teach.
"The average looks wrong." It counts numeric values, including those behind symbols. Check for entries on days you did not expect — and remember the Average column only covers the currently visible week, while Semester average covers the whole semester; if you expected a semester-wide number, look at that column instead.
