Announcements to parents
Who this is for: teachers · Where: Announcements in the sidebar.
What this page is for
A one-way written message to parents. Write it, send it, and it arrives in their portal, as a notification, and on Telegram if they have connected it.
It is not a chat. Parents cannot reply to an announcement. For a conversation, book a meeting.
Who receives it
As a teacher, an announcement goes to the parents of your homeroom class — the pupils you are diriginte of.
It does not go to the parents of every class you teach. If you teach maths to six classes but are homeroom teacher of one, only that one class's parents receive it.
The same page for a director reaches every active parent in the school. The difference is decided by your role, not by a setting you choose.
Only parents who are linked to a pupil are recipients. A parent with no linked child is not on the list.
Sending
A title is optional; the body is not. The body may be up to 50,000 characters — long enough for a full letter.
After sending you see how many parents it went to. That number is a snapshot taken at send time: parents who join the class later do not retroactively receive it.
History and recipients
Everything you have sent is listed with its date and recipient count. Opening one shows exactly who received it, and whether each parent has Telegram connected — useful for knowing whether the message likely reached a phone or is sitting unread in the portal.
Deleting
Deleting an announcement removes it everywhere: from your history, from the parents' inbox, and the related notifications disappear too.
A parent who already read it, or received it on Telegram, has seen it. Telegram messages are not withdrawn. Treat delete as tidying up, not as a recall.
Rules and limits
- Teachers reach their homeroom parents only. Directors reach the whole school.
- Body required, up to 50,000 characters. Title optional.
- Recipients are frozen at send time.
- No replies — announcements are one-way.
- Deleting removes it from parents too, but does not retract Telegram messages already delivered.
Troubleshooting
"It says 0 recipients." No parents in your homeroom class are linked to a pupil, or you have no homeroom class. Check Homeroom.
"Parents in a class I teach did not get it." Expected. Teacher announcements go to your homeroom class only. Ask your director to send school-wide.
"A parent did not get the Telegram message." The recipients list shows who has Telegram connected. Those without it still have the announcement in the portal and as an in-app notification.
"Can I schedule one for later?" Not currently. Announcements send immediately.
