Materials

Who this is for: pupils · Where: Materials in the sidebar, or from a subject in My Subjects.

What this page is for

Everything your teachers attached to your lessons: PDFs, links, videos. Grouped by subject, so revision starts here.

Materials are attached to lessons. For a browsable shelf organised by subject and school year instead, see Library.

The screen, explained

Subjects appear as cards with a count of what is inside. Open one to see its materials, each showing what kind it is and which lesson it belongs to.

Opening a PDF

PDFs open in a reader inside the app, with the cover and title at the top.

It remembers your page

The reader remembers where you stopped on that device, so re-opening a long document takes you back rather than to page 1. It is per-device: your phone and your laptop remember separately.

Opening a video

On a computer the video plays in the page. On a phone or tablet it opens in the YouTube app instead, which is smoother and lets you use the app's own controls.

Rules and limits

  • You see materials for your own subjects only.
  • Links are time-limited. A copied file link stops working after a while — reopen it from this page rather than saving the link.
  • Teachers decide what is shared. A material can exist and not be attached to your lesson yet.

Troubleshooting

"A material my teacher mentioned is not here." It has not been attached to your lesson yet. Ask the teacher.

"The PDF will not open." Reload the page — the secure link had probably expired. If it still fails on a phone, try a computer, as some mobile browsers block embedded PDFs.

"The video will not play in the page." On a phone that is expected: it opens the YouTube app instead.

"It opened at the wrong page." It resumed where you left off. Scroll back to the start.
