What this page is for
Finding exams, taking them, and reading results afterwards.
Before you start
An exam is one attempt. Once you start, the clock runs and you cannot restart it. Do not press Start to "have a look".
Have ready: a charged device, a stable connection, and anything the teacher allowed. Then open the exam and press Start.
Taking an exam
The exam fills the whole screen — the sidebar and the rest of the app are hidden, so nothing distracts you.
The timer
The timer shows your remaining time: it starts when you start, and runs for the exam's duration.
There is also a window — the period during which the exam is open at all. Your time is whichever runs out first.
A 45-minute exam open from 09:00 to 11:00. Start at 09:10 and you have until 09:55. Start at 10:30 and you have until 11:00, because the window closes first.
Answering
Answers save as you go. Multiple choice, written answers, gap-filling, and maths answers all appear as the teacher set them; formulas are typeset properly, and there is an on-screen keyboard for maths symbols where you need one.
Submitting
Press Submit when done.
If your time runs out, the exam submits automatically with whatever you have answered. If your teacher closes the exam early, the same thing happens and you go straight to the result screen. So answer the questions you can first.
What the app records
Depending on what your teacher enabled, the app may record:
- Leaving the exam — switching tab or app
- Pasting text into an answer
This is stated plainly rather than hidden: your teacher sees these events next to your submission. It does not stop you or fail you automatically — a teacher looks at it.
Phone, tablet or computer are all fine, at school or at home. The checks work the same everywhere, so there is no "better" device for honesty. Pick the one with the most reliable connection and the most comfortable screen.
Reading your result
Open a finished exam to see your score and, if your teacher allows it, the questions themselves.
Multiple-choice questions show every option with your answer and the correct one marked. Written answers show what you wrote next to what was expected. Under a question you may find your teacher's note, or automatic feedback — labelled so you can tell which is which.
Rules and limits
- One attempt, unless the teacher explicitly gives you another.
- The clock is on the server. Changing your device's time does nothing.
- Losing connection does not end the exam. Answers already saved are safe; reconnect and continue. Time keeps running.
- Answers may be hidden. Some exams never reveal the correct answers.
- Your parents can see your result and the same feedback you can.
Troubleshooting
"The exam is not in Active exams." Its window has not opened. Check Calendar for when it does.
"It says the exam has ended." The window closed, or your teacher closed it. Whatever you had answered was submitted for you.
"I was disconnected." Reopen the exam. Saved answers are still there and the timer kept running.
"My time is shorter than the exam length." The window closes before your full time runs out — see the example.
"I closed the tab by accident." Reopen it. This may be recorded as leaving the exam, so tell your teacher what happened.
"There is no result yet." It has not been marked. Written answers often need the teacher.
