Absence waivers (scutiri)
Who this is for: parents · Where: Absence waivers in the sidebar.
What this page is for
Telling the school why your child was away, and attaching the certificate.
This is the parent's job. A pupil can explain a short late arrival themselves, but only you can excuse an absence.
Submitting one
- Choose the child — if you have several, each waiver belongs to one of them.
- Choose the period type:
- Whole days — for illness across one or more days
- Specific hours — when only part of a day was missed
- Set the dates (and times, for an hour range).
- Write the reason — at least a few words, up to 1000 characters. You can add an emoji.
- Attach the certificate if you have one.
Attaching evidence
A photo or scan of a medical certificate, up to 10 MB. Photographing the paper with your phone is fine.
Evidence is stored privately and served only through the app to staff at your child's school and to you. It is never a public link, so a URL copied from the page will not open for anyone else.
What happens next
Staff see the waiver against your child. Your submitted waivers are listed here with their status:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Active | Currently valid for the stated period |
| Expired | The period has passed |
| Revoked | Withdrawn |
The waiver is the record and the evidence. Whether the absence is marked as motivated in the register is the teacher's decision, made in the electronic journal.
If the mark still shows unexcused after a few days, speak to the homeroom teacher — the waiver on its own does not change it.
Rules and limits
- One waiver per period, per child.
- Reason: 3 to 1000 characters.
- Evidence: one image, up to 10 MB.
- You can only submit for children you are linked to.
- Waivers cover a stated period — a longer absence needs a new one.
Troubleshooting
"My child is not in the list." Your link is not approved yet, or is for a different school. See Family.
"The file is rejected." Over 10 MB. Photograph at a lower resolution, or share the certificate with the school another way.
"The absence still shows unexcused." The teacher marks that in the journal. Contact the homeroom teacher.
"I made a mistake." Waivers cannot be edited after submission. Submit a corrected one and tell the teacher which applies.
