What this page is for​

Helping final-year pupils decide what comes next: an interests questionnaire, suggested professions, real information about universities and faculties, and a checklist of what each application needs.

Launching it​

Career tracking is off until you launch it for a class. Pupils see nothing — no menu entry, no page — before that.

Launching reserves tokens for the whole class

The cost is shown before you confirm: the number of pupils multiplied by the allowance each one gets, and what will be left afterwards. It is charged once, at launch.

Only grade 12 homeroom classes can be launched.

What a pupil does​

  1. Context — citizenship and residency, which change what they can apply to
  2. Questionnaire — an interests inventory
  3. Professions — suggestions based on the results, from which they choose
  4. Scope — worldwide, one country, local, or undecided
  5. Search — real universities and faculties, with entry requirements
  6. Custom look-up — a named institution they already have in mind
  7. Review and submit — the shortlist becomes their target card

Why steps lock​

Once a pupil commits to professions, a scope, or their targets, that step locks.

Locking is a cost control, not a restriction on the pupil

Each of these steps spends tokens from the allowance reserved at launch. Without locks, one pupil retaking the questionnaire repeatedly would consume the class's budget. A pupil who genuinely needs to redo a step asks you, and you reset them.

Search can be used once, and custom look-ups are capped per pupil.

Your side​

The board shows every pupil's progress, who has submitted, and requests to reopen a locked step.

Reset a pupil wipes their career profile so they can start over.

A reset costs tokens again

It regenerates everything from scratch, so it reserves a fresh allowance for that pupil. The cost and your remaining balance are shown before you confirm.

Who else sees it​

  • The pupil — their own card and checklist
  • Their parents — read-only, once submitted
  • The director — read-only, once submitted

Rules and limits​

  • Grade 12 homeroom classes only.
  • Launch is once per class, and cannot be undone — only individual pupils can be reset.
  • University information is researched live and cited. Deadlines already passed are reported as the next intake's equivalent rather than repeated.
  • Grade fit is only estimated where the admission system allows it; elsewhere it says unknown rather than inventing a number.

Troubleshooting​

"Pupils cannot see career tracking." It has not been launched for their class. That is the intended default.

"A pupil is stuck on a locked step." They can request a reopen, which appears on your board; or reset them, which costs tokens again.

"Launch is disabled." Either the class is not grade 12, it is already launched, or the token cost exceeds what is available.

"A pupil used their one search too early." Reset them, or approve a reopen request.
