What this page is for​

Every parent account in the school, and which pupils each is linked to.

Unlike the teacher version — which is restricted to one homeroom class — this is the whole school.

The search box matches both sides of the link:

  • the parent's own name or email, and
  • the name of a child they are linked to
Searching by the child is the point

Staff almost always start from the pupil: "who do I call about Ion Popescu?" Requiring the parent's name first would make the directory much less useful.

Results are paginated.

What each row shows​

The parent, their contact details, and every child of theirs in the school.

A parent with more than one child appears once, with all their children listed — not once per child.

Linking parents to pupils​

Not done here. A parent links themselves with the child code, and the request is approved by the homeroom teacher. This page shows the links that already exist.

Only active links are shown. A revoked link disappears from the directory, which is the point of revoking it.

Removing a parent from the school​

The trash icon on a parent's row is the only action on this page, and it does more than it looks like it does.

Removing a parent:

  • revokes every one of their child links at once — not the one you were looking at, all of them in this school
  • deactivates their membership, so they lose the portal
  • sends them a notification saying it happened

Their account is not deleted, and nothing about the children changes. If it was a mistake, the parent joins again with a school code and the homeroom teacher re-approves the link.

There is no per-link removal

You cannot unlink one child and keep another from this page. If a parent should keep access to one child but not the other, the homeroom teacher can detach that single link from their Homeroom → Parents panel — this button is all-or-nothing.

Rules and limits​

  • Directors only — school-wide.
  • You cannot create or edit a link here. Parents are linked to children by the homeroom teacher, not from this page.
  • You can remove a parent from the school. That is the one action here, and it is not a small one — see below.
  • Active links only.
  • Search covers parent name, parent email and child name.

Troubleshooting​

"A parent has no children listed." They have an account but no approved link yet. Pending requests sit with the homeroom teacher.

"A pupil has no parent." Nobody has linked to them. The child code is on the pupil's own profile and in the homeroom teacher's tools.

"A parent appears twice." They have two accounts, made with different email addresses. Only one will receive notifications reliably — ask them which they use, and revoke the link on the other.

"How do I contact them all at once?" Use Announcements in the sidebar — as a director it reaches every active parent in the school.
